Mega Millions, Powerball Jackpots Increase

No one won the Mega Millions or Powerball jackpots last week.

The stars didn’t align for any lottery players over the weekend, which means ticket buyers throughout Georgia may be in even more of a frenzy this week.

An estimated total of $436 million had been up for grabs in two multi-state lotteries. But no one matched the winning numbers of 9-22-28-48-54 and Mega Ball 8 in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing, which left the jackpot of about $119 million unclaimed.

An even bigger prize of an estimated $317 million will go unrewarded after no tickets matched Saturday’s Powerball winning numbers—1-17-25-37-44 and Powerball 20.

Now, both lotteries’ top prizes will get a bit bigger. As of early Monday, the jackpot for Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing stood at $130 million, while Wednesday’s Powerball prize hovered at the $400 million mark.
