In Pictures: Historic Norcross Cemetery

On a cloudy afternoon, a walk through the Norcross Historic Cemetery offers both reflection on lives lived and lives lost, but also of lives forgotten.

The cemetery sits at the corner of Buford Highway and South Cemetery Street.

There are recently placed flowers, but then there are toppled-over planters with dried remnants.

There are stately plots, and there are humble ones. Some are aged by rust and weather; some are new.

Cracked headstones, overgrown tree roots and random pieces of clothing are also found here.

What caught this Patch editor's eye the most was that of a baby's plot, with a near-white teddy bear. Someone has been here recently.

One never knows the feelings that a cemetery evoke. I always feel sad, but also honored.

What about you? Have you ever taken a walk through a cemetery?
