Hit the YMCA Pool for a Water Workout

The Fowler YMCA offers a unique way to get a workout - and stay cool in the process.

Have you checked out the Fowler YMCA pool? It's an ideal way to get in shape and keep your cool at the same time.

You don't have to be a swimmer or get your hair wet or put your face in the water to participate in water fitness classes at the Y.

It is a refreshing change to sweating on land, and the health benefits have been proven by water exercise research.  Water fitness is adaptable to almost every exerciser, from the most fit to those who may have difficulty moving freely on land.

Commonly called "water aerobics," aquatic fitness classes include one-hour morning classes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. which are taught by YMCA certified water instructors.

Early risers can experience a water walking class each Wednesday at 7:45 a.m.  For those who want to improve balance, range of motion, strength, and enjoy the natural massage and muscular tension release of water, an aquatic stretching class is held every Friday at 8:15 a.m., and is especially suited for physically limited participants who might not be able to otherwise exercise.
