For the past several months a team of Norcross residents have been hard at work planning for the city’s first National Night Out on August 7th in Thrasher Park. The committee has been instrumental in securing sponsorships from some of our local organizations, and there is still time to sponsor this community/police event.
Save the date and come enjoy some great family games, entertainment and get to know your local police officers and your neighbors old and new. The committee has signed up The Inflatable Zoo and Magic Show; K-9 Demonstrations; there will be performances by Larry Veal of B Moe Positive, Story Time by our very own Donna Blanton, who is also doing a Scavenger Hunt just for the event. Lots more activities are being planned – stay tuned!
As part of this community/police partnership there will be a Child ID/DNA Registry Booth, where parents can work directly with our officers and volunteers to complete an ID/DNA kit for safekeeping. Thanks to Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau our Child ID/DNA Kit sponsor!
If you would like your community to be represented, or you would like to volunteer at the event please contact one of the committee members or send an email to nnonorcross@gmail.com. There is still time to become a sponsor at this inaugural event contact Arlene Beckles via email apbeckles@yahoo.com for a sponsor package.
