Have Car, Will Travel...For Books!

Having the support a great co-worker who believes in the same cause...if you have books to donate and need someone to collect them please let me know.

As a clean air commuter I get to sit back, relax and read a book on the way to work every day.  The joy of reading and imagining a story coming to life is by far the best escape from reality.  Sadly, not everyone and mostly our students get to experience what most of us take for granted, while enjoying a good book.

Recently, several organizations here in the Norcross community began partnering with Better World Books visit www.betterworldbooks.com for more information.  I mentioned the program to one of my co-workers who said that she would love to contribute to one of my many community projects..  Faith immediately jumped on-board and while on vacation she was able to secure 6 cases of books for the project.  Faith lives in Marietta and commutes to Atlanta every day.  In order for me to collect the books I had to give up reading my book and bus ride for a day, and was it worth it?

YES, those six boxes contained over fifty (50) books.  The books will be sorted and a few selected for some local students directly and the remaining books will be deposited into the Better World Books bin located in the parking lot behind the police department at Norcross City Hall.

Pictured is Faith Powell with a few of the books after we packed up my car for the journey to Norcross.
