Summerour Middle School Student Wins a Trip to Turkey!

Miriam Ortiz, an 8th grader at Summerour Middle School placed 2nd in the 8th Annual Atlantic Institute Art and Essay Contest.  Miriam took the theme "How Does Social Media Change the Future," and created an elegantly detailed visual articulation of the concept in pencil.  As a 2nd place winner, she (and her sponsoring teacher) gets an all expense paid trip to Turkey EXCLUDING AIRFARE.  You can see her drawing, and make a donation to her fund and help her get to Turkey at http://www.gofundme.com/IstanbulTrip.   Also, read more about the Atlantic Institute and the the other winners at http://theatlanticinstitute.org/atlanta/awards-ceremony-2013-2014-art-essay-contest.
