Gwinnett Veterans Day Ceremony Pays Special Tribute to Vietnam Veterans

WHAT:  The public is invited to attend Gwinnett County’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony. This observance is held each year to pay tribute to the men and women who have served honorably in the military, during wartime or peacetime, and to memorialize the fallen heroes who have sacrificed their lives to protect our nation. No new names will be added to the memorial during this year’s ceremony.

This year’s event will include a special “welcome home” ceremony for Vietnam veterans; veterans of the Vietnam War and their families are encouraged to attend and participate in the ceremony.

WHEN:  Monday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.

WHERE: Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville, Ga. 30046

WHO: Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash, District 1 Commissioner Jace Brooks and County Administrator Glenn Stephens will lead this year’s event. The keynote address will be given by Sergeant Major Patrick C. Amos, 91B, Combat Medic, U.S. Army. Honor guard units from the Gwinnett County Police, Fire and Emergency Services and Sheriff’s Departments will also take part in the event.
