Gwinnett County Police Citizen's Police Academy

The Gwinnett County Police Department would like to announce the dates of the next Citizen's Police Academy.  The 26th Citizen's Police Academy will be held March 4, 2014, through May 8, 2014 (with no classes during the week of April 7-11).

The mission of the Gwinnett County Police Department Citizen's Police Academy is to create and develop a growing nucleus of responsible, well-informed citizens who have the potential to influence public opinion concerning police practices and service delivery.  Examples of topics covered include: Animal Control, Crime Scene Investigations, Criminal Investigations, Firearms, Gangs, K-9, S.W.A.T / H.D.U., Traffic Enforcement, and Vehicle Pullovers.

Citizens who are interested in joining the Citizen's Police Academy can obtain an application from the Gwinnett County Police Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Association website at www.gwinnettcpa.com<http://www.gwinnettcpa.com>.  These applications will need to be received by the volunteer coordinator no later thanFriday, February 14, 2014 to be considered for the 26th Citizen's Police Academy.  Applications received afterFebruary 14th will be considered for CPA sessions meeting in the fall (dates to be determined at a later time).
