The End of an ERROR!

Last week the City of Norcross witnessed  the end of an era. Hopewell Christian Academy closed it's doors and has leased their school building to Gwinnett County Public Schools to become the new home of a Performing Arts Charter School.

On the surface, this may seem as if Hopewell's loss is Gwinnett County Public Schools gain. But as a tax payer, I have to ask questions and follow the money. Hopewell Christian Academy received thousands of dollars in tax payer money over the years by accepting SB 10 scholarship money for students. Over the past 4 years, under Hopewell's last Principal, they lost over 100 students most of whom paid full tuition. Without students, teachers can't get paid ( it is my understanding that this happened often) and neither can the mortgage on the building. It is my contention that Gwinnett County Public Schools is providing a " bailout" for Hopewell  by leasing the building.

My questions are:

Are Gwinnett County Taxpayers funding another ERROR?

Will Gwinnett County allow the same Principal that lost over 100 children at Hopewell become the Principal at the Charter School?

But most importantly, how did Gwinnett County Public Schools approve  a Charter School proposal from the Administrators of Hopewell Christian Academy when they couldn't manage to keep students and school that they had? How did this happen so fast right under the tax payers nose?

Is this the end of an Error and the beginning of a new one?

Taxpayers deserve some answers.
