Woman Arrested for Assault on Christmas Eve
The victim needed nine stitches between her eyes after the suspect allegedly hit her with a purse.
A woman was arrested on Christmas Eve for aggravated assault after she allegedly punched and hit a woman with her purse, causing the victim to get nine stitches on her forehead.
According to a Norcross Police report, the initial incident occurred Dec. 22 around 5 a.m. at , located at 5830 Buford Highway in the City of Norcross.
The victim, a 43-year-old woman, told Norcross Police that said she had been sleeping in the living room when a woman she knew came in.

The two began arguing. During the altercation, the victim said, the woman hit her on the forehead with her purse, then punched her multiple times.
A renter of the apartment said she witnessed both women hitting each other. However, the victim's injuries resulted in nine stitches between her eyes, and no injuries were reported by the suspect.

The woman left the scene while the victim notified police. She was not there when police arrived.
Two days later, on Dec. 24, the suspect returned to the apartment, which prompted the victim to call police again.
The suspect admitted to hitting the woman with her purse and causing the laceration. She was arrested on Christmas Eve and charged with aggravated assault by weapon.
