The Peachtree Corners Rotary Club recognizes a student who has done something outstanding whether academically, athletically or through community service.
Recently, two students were named the club's Student of the Month. Shirley Flores of Norcross Elementary was one of the students recognized by the club.
Flores received the following proclamation from the school:
Teaching is truly rewarding but without students who display the thirst for knowledge, it would not be not as pleasurable. This year, I have had the pleasure of teaching an amazing individual who really embrace learning and thrives to go beyond her potential in all subject areas.
Shirley Flores displays many qualities that make her an outstanding student. First of all, she is a dedicated, hard working and extremely motivated. She is never uninterested or unprepared and is always enthusiastic about completing any given task.
Additionally, Shirley is not only a role model to her classmates but to the entire student body. She currently a member of the NES Soccer Team and takes this role very seriously. She is very supportive and caring to all students and often assists in helping her classmates achieve their academic and social potential. She also participates with service projects in school and around the local community.
In closing, Shirley is a well deserving student who represents the love of learning. She will continue to grow in becoming a strong leader, learner and role model to her peers. Shirley has a bright future ahead of her and with her strong devotion to learning she will l always strive for excellence.
