Gwinnett County Police have identified a man who was apparently struck and killed while walking on I-85 southbound near the S.R. 317 (Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road) intersection around 3 a.m. Friday.

The pedestrian killed in this accident has been identified as Calvin Wilson Jr, a 26- year-old from Charlotte, NC.

Gwinnett Police reported that Wilson was struck by a southbound tractor trailer.

The victim was not wearing a jacket and had little in his pockets to identify him. He was identified after police asked for assistance from the public. Police believe he may have walked from the Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road area.
