Peachtree Corners Cityhood Passes
Gwinnett County reports that the cityhood measure passed 57 percent to 43 percent.
Tens of thousands of Gwinnett residents that currently have a Norcross address will become the new city of Peachtree Corners. The city will be the largest in Gwinnett County.
Acccording to Gwinnett County election results, with 7,274 votes cast in 13 precincts, 57 percent of resident favored incorporation while 43 percent did not.
Norcross officials had raised some issues with the map proposed by the new city, saying that it includes some land that people don't think of as Peachtree Corners.
Peachtree Corners Patch has been a venue for conversation as the cityhood measure gained momentum and drew near.
