Organic Dog Bakery to Have Grand Opening Saturday

Terra Dog Bakery will have free pet food, contests, pet photography and live music.

in Historic Downtown Norcross is having its grand opening this Saturday with free pet food, contests, pet photography and live music.

The bakery, run by brothers Tim and Andrew Suggs, offers breed-specific organic dog foods, in addition to tasty dog treats such as biscuits, cakes and beef jerky. The foods come in three flavors for 26 different breeds.

"Each breed has different nutritional needs, so our treats are formulated to cater to those needs based on what ailments they typically suffer from," said Tim, who owns two German shepherds.

He and Andrew started the breed-specific dog food via Amazon more than a year ago, with Andrew coming from the culinary field and Tim coming from an Internet marketing background. They learned there was a greater need for their products, so they launched their own website, www.dogbakery.org.

After the business kicked off, the brothers decided a storefront was their next step, so they opened shop in the South Peachtree Street location.

A free sampler bag will be available to the first 25 dogs.

Check out the excitement Saturday, April 14, from noon to 4 p.m., with music starting at 4:30 p.m. Terra Dog Bakery is located at 51 S. Peachtree St. in Norcross.
