An incident on the 300 block Autry Street in downtown Norcross last night has resulted in the death of 15-year-old Nick Jackson II, according to Cpt. Brian Harr of the Norcross Police Dept.
Police responded to a call of burglary in progress at 6:30 p.m. on Autry Street and discovered that a teen been shot. He was transported to a hospital where he later died.
Jackson was a freshman at Norcross High School. His sister, Nikia, was also home at the time, but was not injured, according to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She said that the men broke into the house and went straight to Jackson's room.
"A number of people are being questioned who are not related to the house," said Cpt. Harr last night. Police were were able to get a description of the people and vehicles involved in the incident, then located those individuals a "short distance" from the scene, he later said.
The following individuals have been arrested for murder and burglary, according to jail records: Anthony Bernard Lumpkin, 32, Douglasville; Rico Dehaven West, 19, Atlanta; Eddie Lewis Green, 46, Atlanta; Jason Dozier, 36, Lithonia; Michael Davis, 23, College Park; and Timothy Lamar Johnson, 34, Atlanta. They are being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
Police asked residents to avoid the area last night. As of 9:50 p.m., the street was closed. "There is no immediate threat to the residents in that area at this time," wrote Cpt. Brian Harr in a message. Several people reported being stopped or followed by police.
Norcross PD worked closely with the GBI and the Gwinnett District Attorney's Office in this case, according to a release from Harr this morning.

I pray for the Jackson Family. It breaks my Heart for this young man to have his life taken from him. He had his whole life ahead of him. We need to make a stand against senseless crime. These six men should get the DEATH PENALTY!!!!!! life in prison is to good for them. They took a life, their life should END!!! Let justice prevail. How could they? from their head shots, they look like criminals, their animals.
May God be with the Jackson Family, I pray that God gave them strength.

These criminals do this because the repercussions of any act short of child pornography will have them out of jail in less than two years. Shame on our justice system, shame on our judges who do NOT deal out the death penalty for premeditated murder, and shame on their parents who did not instill a sacred respect for life, may you rot in hell for eternity.................

Gosh, I still can't believe this happened to Nick Nick. Wow!! Heartbreaking. What has this work come too. It seems like when you raise your kids the right way trouble finds them anyways. Makes me terrified to be raising kids in this evil, evil world!!! Nick was a good kid with loving parents and a great loving family, who I have loved and enjoyed since day one. I remember when he was much younger always determined to do good. My Prayers go out to the Jackson family. The sick six will get what they deserve.
