Taco Bell Employee Robbed During Bank Drop-Off
Inside the Police Reports: A worker at a Norcross-area fast-food restaurant was robbed one morning during the routine trip to the bank.
A Taco Bell employee in the Norcross area told police that he was robbed during his routine funds drop-off to the bank.
According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the incident occurred one Monday morning at the Taco Bell located at 1720 Indian Trail Lilburn Road.
The employee, a 23-year-old Norcross resident, told police that he was walking to his car in the parking lot. With a gun in hand, an unknown man approached the worker from behind some bushes and said, "Give me the money. I know you have the money. I'll kill you if you don't give me the money."
The employee said that he didn't have the money on him, but he could get it if he came into the vehicle with him to do his routine pick-up via the drive-thru window.
The two got into the car, and the suspect continued to point the gun at him from a concealed angle. The victim received the money from another employee and drove toward Indian Trail Road.
The suspect told him to stop before entering the roadway, and the man got out of the car and started walking toward Willow Trail Parkway. He didn't start running until the victim yelled at some employees at Havoline Express Oil Change Shop next door to call 911.
The suspect ran toward the woodline of the nearby Garden Ridge. Police searched the area with a K9 but was not able to find the suspect.
The victim told police that his wallet and iPhone also were taken in the robbery. He tried to track his iPhone online, but because the suspect turned off the phone, he said he couldn't track it down.
He described the suspect as being a 5'10" black male who wore a gray hoodie and black pants. He weighed 160 pounds and had brown eyes and a large gap between his two front teeth.
