Women's Boutique Moving to Downtown Norcross

A women's clothing and accessories shop called Dress Up Boutique plans to fill the empty storefront at 81 S. Peachtree St. in Historic Downtown Norcross.

A high-end dress shop may be moving into Historic Downtown Norcross soon.

Dress Up Boutique, a women's clothing and accessories store, submitted plans into the city of Norcross to construct interior finishes for the storefront at 81 S. Peachtree St., according to Norcross Community Development Director Chris McCrary.

The plans were approved in December, and the renovations are expected to finish the first few weeks of February, said Kevin Hobgood of Hobgood Construction Group. At that point, the city of Norcross will finish with inspections to see if the building is up to code.

According to the Dress Up Boutique website, the business was founded in 2009 in Dahlonega. It currently has five stores with locations in Suwanee and Alpharetta.

The 81 S. Peachtree storefront is better known as the old hardware store owned by the Greer family. It is located between Taste of Britain and the other Greer storefront that was rebuilt last year.

The other family storefront has not had any business proposals submitted into the city for some time, said McCrary. Many companies have shown interest in moving into the 87 S. Peachtree St. establishment, which is next to Dominick's. The storefront's interior was built as a “white box" space so that almost any type of business could easily renovate it to fit its needs.

Well, good luck and, . . . . good looking at that. Congrats. Lets make sure we have a balance of business opportunities and store fronts, here in the city of Norcross, while we support even, the businsses that are already here (lets be careful about intruding in the already established businesses, business). . . Our vision for the city of Norcross is all about retail, restaurants and professional services, but a stronged balance, that can even be supported by the community. Lets not over build, any of the 3 pillars (retail, restaurants, professional services), or "OUT OF BUSINESS", will be the sign, of the times. . . . We want disposable income spent here, and that's what will make the pillars work in unison. CHEERS;-}
