Gwinnett Police Needs Public’s Help to Find Suspect in Assault, Kidnapping
Ricky Knight is sought after a May 3 incident at the Retreat at Arc Way Apartments.
The Gwinnett County Police Department is seeking help in finding a man who is suspected of several offenses, including aggravated assault and kidnapping.
Ricky Knight, 33, is wanted in connection with an incident earlier this month at the Retreat at Arc Way Apartments, located at 4000 Northridge Way on the Lilburn and Norcross border near Beaver Ruin.
Police said in a media release that Knight is being charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping, third-degree cruelty to children, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to the release, Gwinnett officers met with a victim on May 3 after responding to an assault call at the apartment complex around 4:00 p.m.
The apartment is the home of the ex-girlfriend of Knight. Officers were told that Knight confronted a friend of the family who was watching the two children in the home. The two men struggled when the suspect brandished a gun; the friend of the family was able to release the magazine from the firearm and escape.
The suspect then fled the scene with the children, who were returned a few hours later unharmed and released into the custody of their mother.
Knight is about 6-foot-2 tall and weights about 190 pounds (a mug shot is attached to this article). He has numerous tattoos on his arms, chest and back.
GCPD needs the public’s help in locating this Knight. Anyone with information can call GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300, or Crime Stoppers at 404-557-TIPS. Anyone with information on Knight’s current location should call 911.
Information in this report based on a media release from the Gwinnett County Police Department. Charges do not constitute guilt.

What's messed up is when jealous women, lie to the police and set people up like in this case with a strange man in the house where he lived and he didn't kidnap those children the mother told him to take them to her friend smh...God be with him!

I've been knowing him a long time too, and he may not have always made the best choices but has been on a great path for the last 2 years and got involved with the wrong female who set him up, period.... he would never harm any child and anyone that truly knows him knows that! And anyone that has negative to say about a situation they can only read about knowing there are always 2 sides is ignorant-clearly and has nothing else to do with their time...prayers to everyone and the truth will be told! Always comes to the light!

Funny because this man has physically hurt me numerous times and my child as well physically before he was even born and emotionally scarred him for life but I guess my ignorance got the best of me huh! LOL Once again KARMA IS A MUG!!!! Don't know her or the story but knowing him is all I need to know, yes people can change but somethings are embedded in someone from childhood to adult. Just my opinion, not asking anyone to agree with it but this is what I know from my life experience. To each their own, and I think we both are commenting on this article, soooo looks like neither one of us has anything to do with their time :)!
