Fatal Car Accident on I-85, Alcohol Suspected Factor
A 22-year-old died early Sunday morning in a collision that was the result of another accident, just inside Gwinnett County.
A car accident just 20 to 50 feet inside of Gwinnett County caused the death of a 22-year-old early Sunday morning. Alcohol is thought to have played a role in the collision, according to the Gwinnett County Police.
Police say that around 3 a.m. a 22-year-old female stopped her Cadillac Deville in the HOV lane near Jimmy Carter Boulevard and I-85 due to a separate accident that occurred in Dekalb County, just outside the dividing line. Her car was hit from behind by a Mitsubishi Montero driven by Brayan Rivera, 23. A passenger, Joshua Keith, 22, was in the Cadillac.
Both Rivera and Keith were taken to the hospital, where Keith later died as a result of the injuries, according to the police release.
