Drug Take Back Day Is This Saturday

Dispose old prescription drugs as part of Norcross' bi-annual Recycle and Clean-Up Day.

It's time for a second dose of Norcross' clean-up and recycling day for 2012, and to go with it, Norcross Police are getting in on the action with the National Drug Take Back event.

This Saturday, Sept. 29, swing by the Norcross Police Department and city hall to safely dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.

"Each day, approximately, 2,500 teens use prescription drugs to get high for the first time according to the Partnership for a Drug Free America," says a Nixle alert from Norcross PD. "Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including the home medicine cabinet."

Volunteers and police members will be accepting the drop offs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Norcross' bi-annual Recycle and Clean-Up Day is a citywide event that is open to Norcross citizens and the greater community. All day, or until services fill up, locals will be able to safely shred unwanted documents, recycle electronics, and dispose of other non-hazardous materials.
