Norcross High basketball player Diamond DeShields committed to the North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday, according to ESPN.

DeShields is the No. 3 propsect in the class of 2013, and is the Tar Heels' highest-ranked junior commitment to date, according to the article.

The offense guard helped the Lady Blue Devils score a spot in this year's semifinals, but they lost against the undefeated McEachern High 64-61.

Norcross had won the previous two state titles.
