City Council Meeting Tonight

The Norcross City Council will meet tonight for the June work session and council meeting in city hall.

The agenda items for the evening include:

  • An acquisition to purchase land at 5785 Buford Highway.
  • The installation of proper stage lighting at Thrasher Park Amphitheater, with a budget amendment.
  • A holiday decorations proposal for additions and potential upgrades.
  • Amendments to the billboards or oversized signs ordinance and accumulation of junk prohibited for inoperable vehicles.
  • Budget for city landscaping.
  • The Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau Hotel/Motel tax.
  • Appointing four new members to the Tree Board.

Last Wednesday, Councilman Ross Kaul announced that he has put in a request to , which bans tobacco use from all city property including sidewalks and city parking lots. The request was made to be on the agenda for the policy work session June 18, Kaul said.

The city council will begin the work session at 6:30 p.m. with the counil meeting to follow at 7 p.m. June 4 in the Norcross City Hall, located at 65 Lawrenceville St.
