Burned Car Victim Identified as Stone Mountain Teenager
Former Tucker High School student Andrea Nassos was found dead Friday inside a smoldering car in Norcross.
The body found early Friday inside a burned-out car at Lucky Shoals Park has been identified as Andrea Eleni Nassos, 18, a former student at Tucker High School and a resident of Stone Mountain, according to a statement from the school.
Police and firefighters were called to the park shortly after 5 a.m. Friday and discovered a car that had been on fire with a body inside. The park is located on the Tucker-Norcross border at 4651 Britt Road.
The victim attended Tucker High School from 9th - 11th grade, moving to a private school in 2010 for her senior year. A statement issued by Judy Spain, THS Communications Officer, said that Nassos worked three jobs and was hoping to become a pharmacist.
"She was a great friend to all," Spain said. "The family is devastated by the tragedy as are many of Andrea's friends from Tucker."
Nassos loved music and was an avid tennis player. In a MySpace entry from last year, she described herself as "an awesome 17-year-old Greek," adding that "I love learning new things. I love being out of the house."
Homicide and arson units from Gwinnett County are continuing their investigation.

How sad. It is scary how close to home things like this happen. I hope your walk with the lord is a beautiful one and I pray that the lord points the investigators towards the right direction to find the evil person who did such a horrible thing. I also pray that her family and friends find peace about their loss some way some how. What a tragedy.

I am shocked and horrified that something like this could have happened to a person as generous and caring as Andrea. I know that she is and will be missed terribly by many people. I pray for the best for her family. Rest in peace, Andrea. I love you.
